Team, today I took action to keep ICE out of schools, hospitals, courthouses, and places of worship across Massachusetts.

We've seen the damage President Trump has done sending federal agents into communities across Massachusetts and across the country. We've seen people shot and killed, innocent people detained, and families torn apart.

School enrollment has declined dramatically in immigrant communities. Health care providers report that families are skipping medical appointments. Witnesses and victims of crime are afraid to go to court to seek justice.

My job as Governor is to keep the people of Massachusetts safe. And right now, that means protecting them from ICE.

That's why today, I filed legislation to:

🔲 Keep ICE out of schools, child care centers, hospitals, courthouses, and places of worship

🔲 Allow parents to pre-arrange guardianship for their children in case they are detained or deported

🔲 Make it unlawful for another state to deploy its National Guard in Massachusetts without my permission

I also signed an Executive Order prohibiting new ICE agreements and banning civil arrests in state facilities.

When Washington won't act, Massachusetts will. And when Trump attacks our families, we defend them.
