Dear John,
Minnesota is now facing a fast-moving crisis. Deadly immigration enforcement actions—enabled by a Supreme Court shadow docket order last fall—have escalated into what many are calling the “Kavanaugh killings.” Communities are being targeted based on perceived identity, language, or occupation, and the harm is growing.
Federal judges in Minnesota are working urgently to respond — issuing emergency rulings and calling out unlawful conduct — even as the Supreme Court allows these tactics to continue . Across the country, lower courts are trying to hold the line.

Check out our short video that explains what’s happening and why this moment is so consequential for the courts. You can watch it here.
Now more than ever, we need our lower courts to protect the rule of law. We have to block and delay Trump’s judicial nominees as he tries to stack the courts with loyalists. And we have to keep fighting for Supreme Court reform. When we fight for our courts we fight for our rights.
