Texas Public Opinion Research released a new poll today showing James Talarico down by just 1 point in the March 3rd Democratic Primary! That’s well within the margin of error — a statistical dead heat.

This is huge for us, and it shows that our strategy to invest more in organizing and advertising early is paying off. We can’t afford to slow down now.

James started this race as a massive underdog. A lot of folks tried to write him off — and still are. The political establishment and pundits claimed he had no chance against the biggest names in Texas.

Our opponents came in with massive financial war chests and rolodexes of donors from past campaigns. Billionaires and corporate donors are lining up to fund super PACs to defeat James.

If we’re going to take back Texas, it requires a true people-powered movement, and that’s exactly what this poll shows is happening. James is proud to be the only candidate who has pledged not to take corporate PAC money because people like you are the backbone of our movement.

We’re going to keep executing our strategy. James will go everywhere and talk to anyone. Nobody is counted out or taken for granted in this campaign.

But getting James’ message in front of the voters we need to win requires significant resources — and right now, we need to fill our budget gap before our deadline on Saturday.
