There’s HUGE news out of the race for Michigan’s critical Senate seat. A new poll shows progressive Democrat Mallory McMorrow BEATING the Republican candidate, Mike Rogers, in a head-to-head matchup.
In the new data from Emerson College, McMorrow holds a 3% lead over Rogers — but most importantly, she holds a 12% (12!) lead over Rogers with independent voters, which is huge in this tightly contested battleground state.
McMorrow burst onto the national scene with a viral speech defending LGBTQ+ rights after getting called a “groomer” by a MAGA zealot. “So who am I? I am a straight, white, Christian, married, suburban mom who knows that the very notion that learning about slavery or redlining or systemic racism somehow means that children are being taught to feel bad or hate themselves because they are white is absolute nonsense!” declared McMorrow.
Since then, she’s helped spearhead the Michigan Senate’s plan to rein in Trump’s out-of-control ICE goons, rolled out a proposal for a new national program to support new mothers in low-income areas, and delivered a slew of bipartisan wins for her state, including the highest-ever per-pupil funding for public schools and funds to help mitigate the disastrous effects of Trump’s Big Awful Bill.
She’s vowed to deliver those same results from Washington — and a whole lot more where that came from. But first, she needs to defeat Republican Mike Rogers, who will have an enormous warchest of billionaire dark money from Trump’s oligarchs backing him. They're intent on making sure Democrats don’t take back the Senate and roll back their outrageous tax breaks.
