Join our four-part February training series on supporting our migrant neighbors, building safety, and moving together in community.
Dear community,
At a moment when many of us are feeling galvanized and asking for guidance on how to show up for our neighbors, community care, shared knowledge, and collective action matter more than ever. This February, Transgender Law Center (TLC) is hosting Beyond Borders and Boxes: Building LGBTQ+ and Migrant Solidarity, a four-week virtual training series designed to give LGBTQ+ people across the country a real on-ramp to action. Together, we’ll learn from on-the-ground organizers, build practical skills, and explore ways to support our migrant siblings and neighbors safely and sustainably.
What to expect across the series:
Grounded, accessible trainings on organizing, safety, and legal rights
First-hand lessons from organizers in Minneapolis, Chicago, and Los Angeles
Clear calls-to-action you can take back to your own community
Register for Part 1: Your Rights and Safety as a Legal Observer on Wednesday, February 4, at 7:00–8:30 p.m. EST. Legal observation is a critical tool for documenting law enforcement actions, including ICE activity, and protecting community members in moments of heightened risk. In our first session, TLC is joined by Chosen Family Law Center and OutFront Minnesota for an introductory legal observer training, alongside real-world stories of how communities are showing up for one another on the ground.
