Dear John,

Last week, Minnesotans from every walk of life showed us how we achieve freedom, with nearly 100,000 marching and over 1,000 businesses shutting down ([link removed]) to demand ICE and the Trump regime end their campaign of abductions and murders. Masked militia, whether ICE, DHS or CBP, do not belong in our communities, let alone armed and willing to commit murder.

Trump’s thugs are abducting our loved ones and killing our neighbors, attacking our freedom to seek a better life and come home safely to our families. We will not enable the hostile takeover of our streets, communities and country. New York is fighting back:
* Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan issued an executive order ([link removed]) , on Monday, prohibiting the City of Buffalo from using personnel, funds, and resources for federal civil immigration enforcement. Additionally, it bars City employees from collecting immigration status information and prohibits detention, transfers of custody, or keeping individuals in custody based solely on detainers or administrative warrants. This is a huge victory for local residents and we want to recognize the persistence and perseverance of our local staff, allies and members who spent eight years fighting for this policy.
* New York City Council voted to override Mayor Adams’ lame duck veto of the Safer Sanctuary Act, today. The Safer Sanctuary Act ([link removed]) closes the loopholes in NYC’s sanctuary policies that allowed federal agents to target our immigrant neighbors and from having an office on Rikers Island or any Department of Corrections Property. It also updates the definitions of immigration enforcement to address any federal agency carrying out a mass deportation agenda. Our ICE Out! NYC Coalition was instrumental in pushing relentlessly for the passage of this bill.
* The Syracuse Common Council passed a resolution ([link removed]) , on Monday, in support of the New York For All Act ([link removed]) , a statewide bill that will prohibit New York law enforcement from colluding with ICE. Join their call, by contacting your elected representatives ([link removed]) to demand they pass the New York For All Act this legislative session.

Every day, ICE, Border Patrol and other enforcers of Trump’s deportation agenda are going into our communities to kidnap our neighbors and sow fear. New York State can take a stand and say: Enough is enough! Tell your elected representatives to pass the New York for All ([link removed]) and the Access to Representation Acts ([link removed]) , to ensure that our state isn’t complicit with Trump’s mass deportation agenda.
Pass New York for All! ([link removed])
Pass the Access to Representation Act! ([link removed])
In solidarity,
[link removed]
