I’m reaching out to you from Minnesota, where over one hundred legislators from 27 states have gathered in person and virtually to stand with our colleagues in the Minnesota Legislature.

For months, at the hands of the Trump Administration and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, ICE has unleashed horrific attacks and violence on our communities.

This unchecked power has set a dangerous precedent that led to ICE shooting and killing two American citizens in Minneapolis — Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

What is happening in our country right now is not normal, John.

That’s why I helped organize my colleagues from across the country to show solidarity with Minnesota in confronting increasing federal overreach, the expanding presence of federal agents in American communities, and the escalation of violence.

John, we cannot continue to let this violence go unchecked. Will you stand with our friends in Minnesota by calling on Congress to continue to demand accountability for what happened in Minnesota, and protect our communities?
