FED Corporation Returns $4.83 Million in Unused Complete Health Park Grants to State of Michigan

*LANSING *– FED Corporation, a Michigan-based contractor, has returned $4.83 million in unused grant proceeds for the development of Clare Complete Health Park to the State of Michigan, announced Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel. The grant funds were initially appropriated in FY 2023, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) was legislatively directed to award the grant to Complete Health Park, a nonprofit, to develop a health and recreation complex.

“I am gratified that through our efforts we were able to recover this money for the State of Michigan,” Nessel said. “My office will continue working to protect taxpayer dollars.”

Following the grant award, Complete Health Park entered a contract with FED Corporation to develop the Clare Complete Health Park. Through the contract, FED Corporation received a total of $5,432,298.24 of grant proceeds.

The grant was suspended in 2023 following an investigation by the MDHHS Office of Inspector General into the nonprofit. MDHHS and FED Corporation entered into an agreement resulting in the return of $4,834,201.41. The Department of Attorney General assisted in negotiating the agreement.

Unused grant proceeds recovered would be returned to the General Fund.
