Folks --

To me, all politics are personal. I know that having leaders with the right values can make a real difference in the lives of the people in our communities -- and that's why I'm fighting so hard to win this key, toss-up race.

Flipping CA-25 in this toss-up race could make the difference to Democrats' holding the House majority this November and continuing to fight to make our country work better for families like yours and mine.

Making a difference, making life a little better for middle class and working Americans, is what it's all about. That's why I became involved in politics in the first place.

I ran for the local school board after working for the U.S. Department of Education because I wanted to ensure the public schools in my neighborhood were excellent and well-funded, so they could provide my daughters -- and every student -- with the highest quality of education.

I believe that every kid, regardless of zip code, deserves an education that will allow them to reach their fullest potential, and I believe our teachers and schools deserve the resources they need to make that possible.

Running for the State Assembly, and flipping a long time Republican-held seat, has given me the opportunity to fight for students all across California. I'm proud to be a leader on issues of public safety, education, and health care.

Now, we need to flip California's 25th district from red to blue in November, but I can't do it alone. This race will be won by a committed grassroots team, and I hope to have you on board. Will you add your name today and say you're on our team?

Democratic activists fought hard in 2018 to flip CA-25 from red to blue for the first time in 25 years. Now we have to do it one more time, because the folks of this district deserve a representative who shares their values and will fight for them.

I know that health care is a human right, and that reproductive choice is fundamental. We are one of the wealthiest, most powerful countries in the world, but our citizens pay more for prescription drugs than in any other nation. My own mom, who worked her entire life as a nurse, couldn't afford the insulin she needed to stay healthy. No one should be sick because they are poor or poor because they are sick.

I believe in a tax system that works for everyone, not just the wealthy few, because I know that social programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security must be protected for the next generation, and the middle class shouldn't have to bear the brunt of their cost.

I'm a proponent of commonsense gun reform. There is an epidemic of gun violence in this country that must be stopped, and we know what we need to do. It's time to act.

And I will proudly affirm that Black Lives Matter, because no Americans can be truly equal until Black and brown Americans' lives are valued.

These are the values I will uphold in Congress. These are the values I'll never stop fighting for.

If this is a campaign you can get behind, please take a moment to add your name as a supporter of our grassroots team. Together, we can take back the 25th.
