Patriot,

Right now, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee is weighing the future of one of the most abused surveillance authorities in modern history:
FISA Section 702.

This program was sold to the public as a tool to monitor foreign threats.

But in practice, it has been repeatedly used to collect and search through Americans’ private communications – emails, phone records, text messages, Internet browsing history – all without a warrant.

That is a direct violation of the Fourth Amendment.

Under Section 702, federal agencies have conducted so-called “backdoor searches” — querying massive databases for information about U.S. citizens, even though the Constitution requires probable cause and judicial oversight.

In other words:

They can look first . . . and ask permission never.

That is not how a free republic functions.

The Fourth Amendment is clear:

The government must obtain a legal warrant before searching or seizing private information.

Yet Washington, D.C. continues to expand surveillance powers while treating constitutional protections as optional.

The Spy State has been caught abusing Section 702. They’ve been caught lying about their abuses. They’ve been caught lying to the courts.

They promise to police themselves and do things the right way.

Do you trust them to do that?I know I don’t.

That’s why we need your help today ([link removed]).

Section 702 expires in April unless Congress reauthorizes the Spy State to keep doing what they’re doing.

Yesterday, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee held their first hearing on the reauthorization. Most senators who were there remarked how important Section 702 is for national security.

Only a few made mention of the need to clean it up and actually require our government to follow the U.S. Constitution!

And the idea of eliminating the sunset provision, which would make warrantless spying powers PERMANENT, was even brought up as a critical need.

That means they don’t want to hear from you and me on this issue EVER AGAIN!

So it’s time for you and me to step up our activities and make sure they hear us loud and clear.

Sign your petition to the members of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee demanding they:Rein in FISA Section 702End warrantless searches of Americans’ dataRequire a real warrant before accessing private communicationsRestore full Fourth Amendment protections

The Senate must hear from the people — not the intelligence agencies.

No American should be spied on without due process.

No government database should become a shortcut around the Bill of Rights.

P.S. Surveillance powers are rarely surrendered once granted. If Congress fails to act now, warrantless spying will become the permanent norm.
Section 702 expires in less than 90 days.
