Message from Congressman Scott Fitzgerald

Friends,

Last week, I had the opportunity to question former Special Counsel Jack Smith during a House Judiciary Committee hearing entitled “Oversight of the Office of Special Counsel Jack Smith.” The hearing focused on Smith’s investigations and prosecutions of President Donald Trump.

How and why did Jack Smith get the position of special counsel?

Smith has known former Principal Associate Deputy Attorney General Marshall Miller since 1999.

Miller gets a job as the #3 at DOJ in the Biden Administration, and just a few months later, Smith is offered the role of special counsel.

Quite the "coincidence."

Seems like Miller wanted Smith in that role because of their long-term friendship.

He knew Smith would pursue exactly what the Biden Administration wanted—criminal charges against President Trump.

Trump Accounts for the Next Generation

Thanks to President Trump and House Republicans, every American child will have access to an investment account from the time they are born. That’s 30 years earlier than most Americans! The new Trump Accounts will set our next generation up for success and support their ability to achieve the American Dream.

Plus, $1,000 will be seeded into the account for every child born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028, and up to $5,000 per year can be contributed to an account from any source, including family, friends, and employers. That means your child could have as much as $2.7M by age 55 for their future.

Rep. Fitzgerald Votes for Pro-Life Legislation and Receives “A+” Rating from Susan B. Anthony List on Pro-Life Scorecard

Recently, I issued the following statements in response to the passage of two critical pieces of legislation: the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act, and the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act. I was also honored to receive an “A+” rating on the Susan B. Anthony List National Pro-Life Scorecard for my pro-life voting record and actions during the first session of the 119th Congress.

On the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act:

“Women and families deserve real support to choose life and thrive,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “This legislation ensures pregnancy centers can continue providing essential services, such as ultrasounds, parenting education, childcare, diapers, and more, so mothers can give their children a strong start while receiving the support they need to build stability for their families.”

On the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act:

“No woman should be forced to choose between her education and her unborn child,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “The Pregnant Students’ Rights Act strengthens existing protections and ensures college students know their rights during pregnancy, empowering them to stay in school and build the future they envision for themselves and their children.”

On Receiving an “A+” Rating from Susan B. Anthony List on Pro-Life Scorecard:

“I am proud to have earned an A+ rating on SBA’s pro-life scorecard,” said Congressman Fitzgerald. “Being recognized by an organization whose sole mission is to fight to protect life is truly an honor. As a Member of Congress, I will continue working to deliver legislative victories for the unborn and stop forced taxpayer-funding of abortion in the United States.”

Visited WI-05 Service Academy Appointees at West Point

It was an honor to visit West Point and meet with the outstanding young men and women from Wisconsin’s Fifth District who I nominated to the U.S. Military Academy. Nominating these exceptional students is one of the greatest honors I have as a member of Congress, and I’m proud of their commitment to serving our country.

Rep. Fitzgerald Votes to Pass Final FY26 Appropriations Bills & Secures Funding to Improve Waukesha CTH O/Moorland Road

Last week, I issued the following statement after voting to pass the final appropriations bills for FY26, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, and the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act. Both pieces of legislation are currently pending in the Senate.

“I voted to pass the Consolidated Appropriations Act because it delivers a 3.8% pay raise for our troops, funds critical defense and infrastructure priorities in a fiscally responsible way, and prioritizes Secretary Kennedy’s Food is Medicine Initiative to Make America Healthy Again. Importantly, this bill also delivers $5.5 million to complete construction of the Waukesha CTH O/Moorland Road project, which carries over 30,000 vehicles per day and serves as a major access road between I-43 and I-94.

“I was also proud to support the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act as it makes targeted investments to stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States and increases ICE funding to ensure agents have the resources they need to do their job and protect our communities.

“We finished the full appropriations process the way it is supposed to be done, with each bill considered on its merits and with real oversight and accountability, not with one massive omnibus. This approach puts taxpayers first and delivers on our conference’s promise to restore regular order in the House of Representatives.”
