Building a case against ICE

Jack for New York

The other night, I held a press conference in Manhattan to demand urgent action on ICE and the DOJ.

The federal occupation of Minnesota is a powder keg failure. It is a national crisis that will get worse unless something is done soon to stop it. Instead of having leadership we can look to in this time of crisis, we know President Donald Trump will continue to fan the flames of this disaster.

That's one of the many reasons Congress must take back its power and speak up. Republicans must stop lowering their eyes in the face of this gross injustice. It is time to act.

Abolish ICE isn't just a bumper sticker slogan. The Senate has the power to block the appropriations bill that continues to fund ICE, but this is just the first step.

The Department of Justice MUST preserve all records of the killing of American citizen Alexander Pretti. We will use those records when Democrats take back the House, but immediately, action must be taken to prosecute those who allowed this atrocity to occur.

I am also formally calling on Kristi Noem to resign. Trump's continued support of her actions as DHS Secretary goes to show that this administration is willfully blind to injustice, and we the people are suffering for it.

As a lawyer, I urgently remind New Yorkers of their constitutional rights to due process as guaranteed by the 5th, 6th, and 14th amendments.

We cannot rest until this terror stops. I know I won't.

More soon,
Jack
