Big Tech corporations are trying to silently build data centers, reaping tax cut benefits that our communities pay for. Oracle CTO and billionaire Larry Ellison just bought TikTok. And Congress is considering a bill that would add body cams to ICE agents instead of dismantling the agency altogether.
Big Tech is moving full steam ahead in 2026, but so are we. Our work demands we move beyond solely response and toward creating a roadmap that responds to our communities’ needs while making a larger collective impact against the Tech Oligarchy. And we can’t do it without you.
Join us, Mijente, and hundreds of the boldest movement organizers in Atlanta, GA on April 17-19th for a weekend full of power-building, learning from each other’s campaigns, and paving the fight forward together.

MJ Rewind: Recapping Our Latest Updates
- We led a data center training in Tucson last weekend, where we convened 100+ organizers across the Southwest and the U.S. to learn from the No Desert Data Center Coalition, strategize the various local and policy interventions, and build relationships between organizers on the frontlines.
- Speaking of the Southwest, we released the latest piece in our Digital Colonialism series, co-produced with Nonprofit Quarterly. Written by Maria Renée, she details how the No Desert Data Center Coalition is mobilizing their city to fight Project Blue, the data center that threatens Tucson, AZ. Read the first three articles in our series if you haven’t yet.
- Last Tuesday, we co-facilitated, The DMV Fights Back: Regional Resistance Against Data Center Expansion. Co-hosted with La ColectiVA, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Charlottesville Democratic Socialists of America, We Power DC, and Virginia Student Power Network, we talked about the data center projects in the DMV area and broke down how local organizers are fighting back.
- Missed our end of year recap? As we finish January, look back at the major milestones MediaJustice accomplished in 2025 with our movement community.
The road ahead is long and windy, but grounding ourselves in our wins keeps us rooted and inspired for the fight ahead. And we couldn’t be more grateful to have you along as we build our collective power to fight against the Tech Oligarchy and its agenda.
In collective solidarity,
MediaJustice
