Folks –

This headline should concern every single American. We just learned of a FBI raid at the elections warehouse in Fulton County, Georgia – the center of President Trump’s ridiculous conspiracy theories about the 2020 election.

But here’s what’s most alarming: Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard was present at the FBI raid – and the implications are deeply concerning.

Director of National Intelligence is supposed to be a nonpartisan, apolitical role leading our nation’s intelligence community. It has no law enforcement powers and oversees agencies aimed at foreign threats to our country. There was absolutely no reason for Tulsi Gabbard to be at this raid.

Instead of spending her time protecting our national security – like defending our elections from foreign interference – she’s apparently busy indulging the president’s baseless lies about the 2020 election.

Now more than ever, we need a Senate that is capable of independent oversight of this administration. And quite frankly, that will not happen as long as Republicans hold the majority.

Look, I know a thing or two about investigating election fraud. I co-led the Intelligence Committee’s investigation into the 2016 election. In order for it to be credible the investigation must be bipartisan and transparent.

This search was none of those things and that should alarm all of us.
