Maine is a battleground state this year. We can’t flip the Senate without electing Sara Gideon to replace Susan Collins. We need to defend Jared Golden in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District. We need to make sure that, like Barack Obama, Joe Biden receives all four of Maine’s electoral votes.

But the corporate special interests and the deep-pocketed friends of Mitch McConnell, Donald Trump, and Susan Collins are doing their best to stack the deck -- with nearly $3,000,000 in PAC donations to Collins’ campaign.

Collins has money pouring into her campaign from big pharma, the fossil fuel industry, and Wall Street firms, but the leading contributors to her campaign have been donors associated with the Federalist Society. That’s the conservative legal group that backed the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh. They continue backing Collins because she ignored the voices of Mainers who overwhelmingly opposed Kavanaugh and voted to confirm him anyway. To no one’s surprise, Mainers don’t seem to make up a large portion of Collins donations.
