Dear Friend,

After an incredible year of hard work and deep impact, I am excited to share with you Cultural Survival’s 2019 Annual Report ([link removed]) !

This report highlights the various levels of impact Cultural Survival is making around the globe, and exemplifies our commitment towards creating a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.

Thanks to our funders and supporters like you, in 2019 we accomplished the following:
* Our Community Media Grants Project ([link removed]) funded 35 Indigenous media projects in 9 countries, totaling $210,000, strengthening Indigenous languages and promoting freedom of expression. Additionally, we trained more than 80 Indigenous women in radio production, journalism, and advocacy.
* Through our Indigenous Community Media Youth Fellowships ([link removed]) , we supported six groups of youth (63) in building capacity in media, journalism, and radio production.
* The Cultural Survival Keepers of the Earth Fund ([link removed]) awarded 20 projects in 10 countries, totaling $79,864 supporting the right to development and self-determination.
* We produced over 160 radio programs in 69 countries to 1600+ Indigenous stations on Indigenous rights through our Indigenous Rights Radio Program. ([link removed])
* Our Advocacy program ([link removed]) submitted eight official stakeholder reports to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and UN Treaty Bodies on human rights issues affecting Indigenous communities in El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and the United States.
* We supported 68 artists and vendors representing more than 4,500 Indigenous artists from more than 30 countries, and generated $493,358 for Indigenous artists and communities through the Cultural Survival Bazaars ([link removed]) .

We are extremely thankful for both our new supporters and long-time donor partners, and their ongoing dedication and commitment to upholding Indigenous rights. It is through your financial support and generous donations that make this work possible.

In solidarity and gratitude,
Galina Angarova (Buryat)
Executive Director
