Online updates to Policy Manual
As part of the Department of Social and Health Services Reimagine effort, DSHS launched a workgroup to evaluate policies between the newly formed Home and Community Living Administration and the Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration. The Developmental Disabilities Community Services' online Policy Manual [ [link removed] ] has been updated to list policies applicable to Home and Community-Based Services in addition to the policy owner.
Home and Community Living Administration and Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration are collaborating to separate policies that were part of the Developmental Disabilities Administration before key functions were consolidated in May 2025.
Process
While the format and appearance of the polices will change, the content will remain the same. Each policy will continue to include the purpose, background, legal authority, and implementation guidance; however, the format and appearance of the policies will change to meet accessibility standards and add relevant supplemental information.
Timelines
* All policies will be reviewed and republished no less than every two years.
* Any policy updates will be sent quarterly. These communications will include the policy number, title, and a brief description of the policy change.
