Dear John,

This year marked the 25th anniversary of the approval of mifepristone, an abortion pill proven safe and effective by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In September, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked the FDA to review the safety and efficacy of mifepristone, citing a flawed pseudo-study from a group seeking to ban all abortions, the Ethics and Public Policy Center. [1] This pseudo-study has not been peer-reviewed and falsely presents a view that medication abortion is not safe. [1]

The same week, the Trump Administration made baseless medical claims about the dangers of taking Tylenol while pregnant, warning of links to autism. [2] These attacks on scientifically-backed medications are all part of the same playbook: the Trump administration is trying to get the to FDA follow politically-motivated, medically baseless claims. [3]

Add your name now to support access for mifepristone.

Let’s be clear: the Trump administration will continue these attacks to roll back protections for abortion pill access, which currently account for nearly two-thirds of abortions in the U.S. every year. [4] As countless legitimate studies have shown: Medication abortion is safe. Period. Kennedy’s request to the FDA is a step toward a de-facto Trump abortion ban. [5]

Mifepristone is safe and here to stay. Sign the petition now if you agree.

For years, mifepristone has accounted for a majority of abortions in the U.S. when used in combination with misoprostol. [4] And, according to peer-reviewed research with credible data transparency, rates of adverse health risks after taking the drug have been found to be extremely low. [6] Just recently, the FDA approved a new generic form of mifepristone, proving yet again that the drug is safe and effective. [7]

This is a sham review demanded by anti-abortion leaders hellbent on getting Donald Trump to institute a backdoor abortion ban. We can’t let this happen.

Sign your name now to make clear to the FDA: Keep the Trump administration away from our mifepristone.

Sincerely,

Erin, Shireen, Andrea, Ani, Annie, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Jasmine, Jessica, Kieran, Nataley, Stephanie, Victoria, and the Reproaction team

P.S. Mifepristone is proven to be safer than Viagra. If you believe the FDA should steer clear of the Trump admin’s adherence to faulty science, sign your name now.
