Folks,
Cindy Hyde-Smith recently dismissed our campaign and concerns raised by Mississippians as “a lot of noise out there.” She claims that the reason she’s not paying attention to Mississippi voters is because her “priority is trying to stabilize this economy” during the coronavirus pandemic.
If that’s true, then all I have to say is: Where’s the relief?
When this crisis began, Hyde-Smith joined the administration in downplaying the severity of the pandemic, calling it “Democrat scare tactics” and telling Mississippians that the pandemic would be under control “in a couple of weeks.”
Not long after that, Hyde-Smith voted to take money out of Mississippi’s unemployed workers and their families’ pockets in the first COVID-19 relief package — and stalled the following relief package for weeks.
Meanwhile, Mississippi has become a coronavirus hotspot. We are facing a surge in cases, a stalled economic recovery, skyrocketing unemployment, and a testing crisis.
So let’s be clear, folks: Cindy Hyde-Smith is doing NOTHING to stabilize this crisis. In fact, she and Mitch McConnell are still stalling on passing legislation.
It’s never been more urgent to give Mississippi new leadership this November. Rush a grassroots contribution of $10 or whatever you can today to support our campaign before our July fundraising deadline.
