It’s Juliana.
On the debate stage against my primary opponents, I said what my opponents and many other politicians are afraid to say:
That’s right. I want to abolish ICE.
Not thank ICE, as Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi did.
Or “dismantle ICE,” like Congresswoman Robin Kelly says she would.
Abolish it. Plain and simple.
Because ICE is an agency that cannot be reformed. New leadership won’t fix it. A smaller budget won’t fix it. ICE exists to terrorize communities — and that is exactly what it’s doing.
When we look at what’s happening in our country — innocent civilians being murdered, our neighbors being unlawfully detained, and protestors facing violent backlash — we can’t sit back and say that it's okay for us to keep the agency responsible for these atrocities around. It’s wrong.
It doesn't matter whose ICE it is. It needs to be abolished. That’s how we move this country forward and make sure our communities are safe.
And I’m not sorry for saying it.
Republicans are already attacking me for taking this stand. But that’s the kind of lawmaker I will be in the U.S. Senate. I won’t beat around the bush. I won’t hide behind semantics. When I say I stand with immigrant communities, I mean it — and I’m willing to fight for it.
Taking this stance isn't easy — it certainly won’t make running this Senate campaign easier. But I believe it's the right thing to do.

Together, we’re done with half-measures and word games. Together, we’re taking this fight to the U.S. Senate.
