When the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, it felt like a gut punch. Zip codes began to dictate your freedoms, and in some states you could be so dehumanized that they would hunt you down for merely seeking your own health.
And Steve Hilton wants to bring that dystopian world to California.
To Hell with that.
People's personal health cannot become someone else's to rule, and here in California it won't.
I'm not going to let my nieces and nephews, or their friends or classmates, enter adulthood with less rights than those of us who paved the way before them. I won't allow doctors who aid patients with their family planning and health be hunted down like wild dogs and shipped across state lines to a waiting kangaroo court.
These last few years are a scary reminder that progress can be ended at any moment by those who want to take us back to a dark age. That’s why we have to stay vigilant, and it’s why we need to band together right now as we head into these critical next months that will decide the future of our state.
