The recent events in Minnesota are tragic, abhorrent, and absolutely unacceptable.

ICE has shirked accountability and transparency for too long, and the consequences are deadly. Something has to change.

Here’s what I’m doing to fight back.
  1. Renewing calls for action on my legislation to restrict excessive use of force by ICE, which I introduced in November. Masked agents of ICE, DHS, and CBP have exhibited increasingly aggressive and dangerous conduct, which only makes our communities less safe. It’s time they are held to higher standards by implementing common-sense reforms to improve transparency and accountability in enforcement actions.

  2. Refusing to approve additional funding for ICE, as it continues to operate as a heavily militarized agency, invading our neighborhoods with little accountability and almost no restraint.

  3. Signing on to articles of impeachment for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. There is no justification for the lies and incendiary rhetoric Noem has spread, and it’s abundantly clear that she is not fit to lead.
We’re not out of the woods yet, but it’s a start. I won’t stand by while our communities are terrorized in the name of law enforcement.

Please reply to this email and let me know what additional action you want to see from Congress.
