Friends,

As you read this, there’s a bill before the Senate to fund the Department of Homeland Security and give BILLIONS of additional dollars to ICE.

I want to be very clear about where I stand: I will not vote to give ICE or Border Patrol another dime while they act with such reckless disregard for life, safety, and the Constitution.

They are killing and arresting U.S. citizens for exercising their rights.

They are terrorizing our communities and throwing people into detention camps and even deporting them with no due process and no accountability.

Friends, this is an Administration that doesn't want you to believe what you see with your own eyes.

Last week, I went to the ICE detention facility in California City and saw for myself and heard from people there about the conditions.

I know what I saw with my own eyes and what I heard with my own ears in talking to many of the detainees.

People are being held in inhumane conditions, with unacceptable access to health care, food, water, and legal counsel.

They’re facing abusive treatment from staff and excessive use of solitary confinement.

ICE is detaining people with no criminal record and forcing them into inhumane conditions while wasting billions in taxpayer dollars.

Does this seem like an organization that can be trusted with additional billions of dollars, with no strings attached?

We must hold the Trump administration accountable for its cruel and indiscriminate mass deportation agenda, not give them even MORE money for arrests, detentions, even deportations, all without due process.
