The New York Times released a genuinely shocking new poll with Siena College last week with findings that should be a giant flashing warning sign to Trump.
You know I’m a data guy, so let’s dig into these numbers.
Approve-Disappove
- Trump’s first year: 55-42% (-13%)
- Trump overall approval: 40-56% (-16%)
- Country is better off than a year ago: 32-49% (-17%)
- Economy is better off than a year ago: 41-31% (-10%)
- ICE’s Job Performance: 63-36% (-25%)
- The U.S. running Venezuela: 64-33% (-31%)
- Tariffs: 54-38% (-16%)
- Medicaid cuts in GOP budget bill: 56-29% (-27%)
- 61% of Americans, including 19% of Republicans, say ICE’s tactics have gone too far
The White House is attempting washing-machine levels of spin to portray this poll as anything but what it is: a complete rebuke of MAGA-ism.
I'll continue my analysis just a second, but this is a quick reminder that my March 17th primary is around the corner. I’m asking you to chip in $25 to my campaign today so my team and I can register and mobilize a winning coalition in these crucial final weeks.
Voters are beginning to see that MAGA offers nothing but brutality, division, corruption, chaos, bloodshed, hardship, and human suffering. But it'd be a mistake to assume they're automatically in our corner.
It'll take self-reflection and hard work to earn their trust, and ultimately, their votes.
So whatever it takes is what we'll do. Because the bottom line is that the decline of our economy, justice system, health care, national security, immigration system, military, infrastructure, and climate will only intensify unless we secure enough votes to wipe the floor with MAGA this November.
Every dollar, every district, and every vote is a tool in our arsenal to save democracy, so will you chip in $25 to help me win my primary, defeat my MAGA opponent, and rebuild our coalition?
With hope,
Sean
