Governor DeWine Announces 6 Projects Set to Create 348 Jobs, More Than $56 Million in Investments
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of six projects that will create 348 new jobs and retain 243 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $29.4 million in new payroll and generate over $56 million in investments across Ohio.
*CENTRAL*
*Aerospace Lubricants, LLC, city of Columbus (Franklin County)*, expects to create 15 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $1.38 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in Columbus. Aerospace Lubricants supplies synthetic products for the automobile, industrial, military, aerospace, and consumer markets. The proposed project involves expanding its existing footprint to support growth and diversify its product offerings. TCA approved a 1.175 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
*NORTHEAST*
*CSA America Testing & Certification LLC, city of Brecksville/ Independence (Cuyahoga County)*, expects to create 97 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $9.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in the city of Brecksville and the city of Independence. CSA Group is a global provider of testing, inspection, and certification services for products from a wide range of market sectors and a leader in safety and environmental certification for Canada and the U.S. The proposed project involves a significant expansion of U.S. head office operations as well as growing its research and testing footprint in Ohio. TCA approved a 1.619 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
*Rupes USA, Inc., city of Solon (Cuyahoga County)*, expects to create 53 new full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $2.6 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in the city of Solon. Rupes USA is a global leader in innovative, high-quality professional tools and vacuum systems with a strong focus on research and development, patents, and worker safety. The proposed project involves the purchase of a facility that will support manufacturing, distribution, training, and future growth to allow an increase in capacity, better customer service across the eastern US, and strengthen its manufacturing footprint. TCA approved a 1.138 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
*SOUTHEAST*
*Stewart Glass, LLC, city of Logan (Hocking County)*, expects to create 105 new full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $8.2 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in the city of Logan. Stewart Glass is a solar panel pattern glass production company specializing in high-performance glass solutions and building on a legacy of technical expertise and innovation in float glass manufacturing. The proposed project involves a new pattern glass production facility, which would be the only one of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. TCA approved a 1.56 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
*SOUTHWEST*
*Aurrigo International, Inc., city of Cincinnati (Hamilton County)*, expects to create 28 new full-time equivalent positions, generating more than $3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in the city of Cincinnati. Aurrigo is a supplier to the automotive industry in Europe and is a designer and developer of fully integrated smart airside solutions for the aviation industry, including autonomous vehicles, systems, and software. The proposed project involves establishing a permanent U.S. location that will initially consist of research and development space for their autonomous airport ground operation vehicles and the associated control systems. TCA approved a 1.423 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
*WEST*
*Katz 1899 Inc., city of Dayton (Montgomery County)*, expects to create 50 new full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $4.7 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s project in the city of Dayton. Katz 1899 produces complex industrial process systems for factories, laboratories, and clean rooms for microelectronics, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, water treatment, and food and beverage customers. The proposed project involves a joint venture with Ohio-based Peck Hannaford & Briggs Company to establish a new manufacturing hub. TCA approved a 1.647 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
