As we head into the final days of January, we want to be transparent about what we’re experiencing at CER right now.

This month, we launched statewide candidate recruitment efforts in eight states. That work is already generating a steady flow of people asking for next steps, and our team is in the middle of following up, answering questions, and helping first-time candidates navigate the filing process.

At the same time, our January digital fundraising hasn’t kept pace.

Here’s a snapshot of where things stand on ActBlue:

When fundraising dips like this, it limits our capacity to support every potential candidate as quickly and thoroughly as we need to. And in this work, timing matters. First-time candidates are more likely to move forward when they get clear, responsive guidance early. When that support is stretched thin, too many candidates stall out before filing.

With our January fundraising deadline just days away, we need to close this gap and ensure we can fully fund our candidate recruitment efforts.
