John,

Today is day 18 of the Democracy911 walk to declare a state of emergency on American democracy.

I've made it all the way from Atlanta, Georgia, to Charlotte, North Carolina. My ankles hurt, and thunderstorms have pushed me to find shelter along the way. But I'm not stopping. I'm determined to finish this 600-mile walk, and bring our message all the way to our nation's capital: it's time to fix America's corruption crisis.

And I need your help.

I don't need you to walk 600 miles – I'll take care of that. I need your help getting our nation's leaders to go on the record telling us their stance on fixing America's corruption crisis.

That means asking our leaders – from presidential candidates to local leaders – to tell us what they will do to unrig the system. Join us next Wednesday, August 28th, at 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET for a training on bird-dogging politicians.

On the webinar, you'll learn all about bird-dogging: a simple, effective tactic to get candidates to take a public stance on policies.

Getting politicians on the record is the most critical step we can take to ensure they'll treat our corruption crisis as the emergency it is – and finally take action to fix it.

While I carry the torch (along with that awesome flag in the photo above) forward on the walk to Washington, D.C., you can help by getting this message to politicians. Join this Wednesday's webinar to learn how you can demand answers from candidates.

Thank you for taking this step and for joining me in demanding action.
