The day Renee Good was murdered, I said that not only was the ICE agent’s hand on the gun, Kristi Noem’s hand was on the gun too. I stand by that.
And now, with Alex Pretti’s execution at the hands of a CBP agent, another human life has been cruelly and needlessly cut short.
Federal agents are shooting Americans in the street. And the responsibility for these murders doesn’t stop with the agents who pulled the trigger.
This administration’s policies and rhetoric caused Renee Good’s death and Alex Pretti’s. And their continued lies about what we can all plainly see are creating the conditions for more tragic deaths in the future.
So I’ll say it again: President Trump’s hands were on that gun. Secretary Noem’s hands were on that gun.
Kristi Noem is unfit to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security. She’s dishonest. She’s shown a callous disregard for human life, for the truth, and for basic measures of accountability. Noem should be impeached, and if I were in Congress today, I wouldn’t hesitate to file articles of impeachment against her.
That’s what the people of New York and this entire country deserve: leaders who will stand up, say and do what’s right, and fight tooth and nail against what’s wrong.
