Hi friend,

If you want to know how low MAGA extremists are willing to go, here’s a quote from one of our opponents:

“Our Congressman is more focused on ensuring there is a drag queen in every library than on ensuring your family has a hot meal on every plate.”

This isn’t just culture war garbage. It’s homophobia wrapped in a talking point. And it’s exactly the kind of hate that’s been used for decades to dehumanize LGBTQ people and turn neighbors against one another.

I’ve heard this stuff before. When I first came out. When I lost my job as a meteorologist in Texas for being gay. When I ran for Congress. But it still hits, and it’s a reminder of how much work we have left to do.

Here’s another little gem:

”[Eric Sorensen]’s more interested in making headlines than making life better for the people of Northwest Illinois.”

The truth is I’m in Congress fighting every day to lower costs, expand access to health care, and protect the freedoms of people in every ZIP code, no matter who they are or who they love.

I’ll never back down from being who I am, and I’ll never stop fighting for you. But if we’re going to beat this garbage back and win this race, I need you with me right now:

Please chip in $3 or whatever you can before our end-of-month deadline. Every dollar helps fight back against the hate and keep IL-17 blue. [[link removed]]
