ICE agents’ lack of transparency and accountability, and insufficient training, has proven to have deadly consequences. And I won’t stand by while it continues unchecked.
Instead of focusing on serious threats, ICE is chasing arrest quotas and sweeping up everyone in their path, including children and even U.S. citizens. And despite its immense funding (which Trump has doubled while in office), agents are still not held to the same training and accountability standards as our local police.
That’s why I introduced legislation to restrict excessive use of force by ICE. Introduced back in November, this bill would limit military-style tactics, require body cameras, improve training, and make sure agents intervene when colleagues act unlawfully.
If you agree that ICE agents must be reined in and held accountable, please add your name here.
Last year, ICE agents stormed a small neighborhood restaurant in our district. They slammed the owner against a wall, handcuffed workers, and used flash-bang grenades on bystanders – all to arrest four peaceful dishwashers, not violent criminals.
That kind of conduct makes no one safer.
It’s time to end this unchecked aggression against civilians and restore transparency in law enforcement. If you agree, add your name here.
Thanks for making your voice heard.
