John – It’s Becca.
I wanted to reach out because Minnesota has been on my mind every single day. And after another life was lost — Alex Pretti — it feels heavier, and more urgent, and more personal all at once. There are families grieving right now. Communities trying to make sense of fear that never should have been normalized in the first place.
And still, people are showing up. Calling their members of Congress. Speaking at hearings. Watching out for their neighbors. Folks who are hurting, yes — and still finding the strength to stand up.
That kind of courage deserves backup. Real backup. And before I go any further, I want to ask if you can help us provide it.
We set a goal to raise $10,000 by the end of this month to keep pushing for ICE accountability and to make sure we can show up FAST when people are in danger. And I’m going to be completely transparent — we are only $1,778 away from hitting it. That’s within reach, and with this team, I know we can close that gap and keep this fight moving forward. CHIP IN TO CLOSE THE GAP [[link removed]]
Here’s the part I won’t sugarcoat…
Right now, we do not have the House majority. We do not have the votes to fully rein in this administration or force the sweeping changes we need. It is infuriating, frankly. And it is exactly why we have to keep organizing, keep building power, and keep fighting in every lane available to us.
Taking back the House this year is personal for me, because it’s how we protect families and hold this lawless Trump administration accountable. It’s how we open real investigations. It’s how we stop dangerous policies before more families are shattered by them. And it’s how we start to turn the tide for our people.
And that work takes resources. It takes staff, and it takes getting on planes — to Minnesota to stand with folks there, to districts where Republicans won’t even hold town halls, and to wherever the people may need me.
I have to say, you all have really shown up this month…and I mean that. Your support has already made it possible for us to push back in ways we simply couldn’t have done otherwise. I am so grateful for that, and I don’t take it for granted.
That’s why it’s not easy for me to ask this — but with three days left in January, if you can give, it would mean everything to me and the folks depending on us right now. Even a few dollars helps us finish strong and head into the next phase of this fight with resources and momentum we need. [[link removed]]

Here’s what I believe, down to my bones: compassion is not weakness. Caring is not naïve. And loving your neighbors enough to fight for them? That is strength. That is patriotism. And that is exactly what this moment calls for.
They are counting on people getting tired. Getting quiet. Getting used to things that should never be normal.
But that’s not who we are. And it’s not who I am.
Thank you for standing with me, for trusting me, and for being part of this fight when it would be easier to look away. I promise you this: I am not letting up, and I damn sure am not backing down.
With so much gratitude and a whole lot of determination,
— Becca
