Alex Pretti and Renee Good should still be alive today. Liam Ramos should be home in Minnesota. Our immigrant neighbors should be able to go about their day without fear of being abducted.
In the face of such unthinkable lawlessness and violence from our own federal government, we rise up, with care for one another and love for our state as our North Star.
We are Minnesotans. We will lock arms and stand our ground in pursuit of something so simple – the opportunity for our communities to send our kids to school, go to work, and live our lives in peace.
I believe that it is this resolve and strength that is helping turn the tide. We finally are seeing some Minnesota business leaders get off the sidelines and even a few local Republicans are signaling that Operation Metro Surge needs to end. On top of that, Greg Bovino and some of his CBP agents are leaving Minnesota.
To be clear, these responses have not met the moral clarity this moment requires, and we must not rest until ICE leaves our state, but we are seeing in real time the powerful impact of simply being good neighbors. I’m proud of our community, our state, and trust we will remain diligent, together.
Donate to Help Efforts in Richfield
Community leaders have been working tirelessly to ensure families are connected with the assistance they need to stay safe in their homes. I wanted to highlight the best way you can help in Richfield to support the need for rental assistance for Richfield families. The Richfield Leadership Network is sponsoring an Emergency Community Response Fund.
Between now and February 1st, our Richfield Foundation will be matching donations up to $10,000. This is a great time to make a donation to support our community members with urgent needs.
