ICE is broken beyond repair. It must be dismantled and abolished.
I support scrapping ICE and creating a new agency to enforce immigration law in a way that reflects our values, respects human dignity, and obeys the Constitution.
If we are going to enforce the law, it cannot be done through fear, secrecy, and violence. This is what I as a minimum would demand.
- No masks or face coverings designed to conceal agents’ identities
- No racial profiling
- Kristi Noem and ICE leadership must go — through resignation or impeachment
- Immigration enforcement agents must wear uniforms that clearly identify who they are and never military-style gear
- Judicial warrants required for entry into people’s homes
- No U.S. citizens can be detained or arrested by immigration enforcement agents
- ICE agents must be prosecuted for crimes they committed, including murder or manslaught
We desperately need this, what has been happening is unacceptable—all under the supervision of an unelected, unaccountable, and unethical leader: Stephen Miller, Trump’s deputy chief of staff.
