California's housing affordability crisis is at a breaking point. Nearly one million households that rent in the state pay more than half of their income towards rent, forcing them to make difficult choices to stretch their paycheck in order to pay their rent. These choices can often threaten their housing stability, access to transportation, ability to keep food on the table, or pay for healthcare. It's time for our state to take action.

The California Housing Justice Act (AB 1165) will help the state address our housing affordability crisis by developing a comprehensive plan to deliver housing security to Californians.

AB 1165 requires the state to:

• Create a finance plan to solve houselessness and the housing affordability crisis.
• Collaborate to boost and leverage local and federal resources.
• Set goals and accountability measures to ensure all programs and allocated funding contribute to established goals.
• Update the public on the progress made on the finance plans.

Tell your California State Assemblymember to vote YES on AB 1165 and move California towards ending the housing and houselessness crisis statewide.
