John — Ilhan was attacked at a
town hall in Minneapolis last night.

We hosted a town hall to discuss ICE’s ongoing, violent occupation of our
city. As Ilhan was giving her remarks, a man rushed up to her and squirted
her with an unknown substance from a syringe. Thankfully, our security
team apprehended him immediately.

John, Ilhan’s okay. This small
agitator isn’t going to intimidate her from doing her work. That’s why she
went back to the podium to finish her remarks and take questions from her
constituents. We don’t let bullies win.

But this proves something important. For months now, Trump has personally
attacked Ilhan and sent his MAGA followers after her. Just minutes before
this attack, Trump was at a rally in Iowa, insulting Ilhan and talking
about killing Somali people.

This is why we’ve asked for folks' help to afford a personal security
team. Last night, that very team helped avoid a much worse situation.

No one, from the President of the United States to a random attacker, is
going to stop Ilhan Omar from speaking out about what is happening in our
city and state right now.

This administration is tearing the Constitution apart and killing people
in the streets. We will not back down as we fight to block funding for DHS
and ICE, impeach Kristi Noem, and seek justice for Alex Pretti and Renee
Good.
