I gave up my seat in D.C. for this. Many would say running for Attorney General
against the California machine is impossible. But I have already defeated Rob
Bonta and Gavin Newsom repeatedly in court. I know how to defeat Sacramento,
but I need your help launching this campaign.5 files

Hi there John,

This is Michael Gates – there’s something I want to share, if you have 30
seconds.

Most attorneys spend their entire careers trying to get to Washington, D.C.

I was there. I was serving in the Trump Department of Justice, fighting for
election integrity on the national stage. I even recently sued the State of
California and Orange County to enforce federal election integrity laws. I was
exactly where I thought I needed to be, doing work that mattered.

But there was one problem:

I was watching from a distance as my home state was destroyed.

I saw the crime waves, the “woke” mandates, and the complete abandonment of
the rule of law and our State and federal Constitutions.

So I packed my bags and came home to the front lines.

It was a difficult decision. People told me I was crazy (some still do!).

They say running for Attorney General in California is impossible. They say
the Newsom-Bonta machine is too rich and too powerful.

But I know something they don’t. I know they can be beaten.

<[link removed]>
How? Because I’ve actually done it as City Attorney for Huntington Beach for a
decade:

* When they closed our beaches during COVID, we sued! Newsom had to reopen
them.
* When they declared a “Sanctuary State,” we fought Bonta in court. A judge
ruled in our favor.
* When they tried to ban our new Voter ID law in Huntington Beach, Bonta sued
us. We won.
* When the State passed AB 1955 mandating that teachers keep secrets from
parents concerning their children’s gender issues, we sued!

California is worth saving. Voters are desperate for a “People’s Lawyer” who
actually follows the law (and doesn’t break it like the Democrats). Now is the
time to turn California around, before it’s too late.

But I’d be lying if I said fundraising doesn’t make a difference in a race
like this. The far-Left is readying a FORTUNE to drown out our message and
protect their power.

Our path to victory depends on raising enough to keep up.

My finance team tells me we need to raise $250,000 in the next 48 hours so we
can:
<[link removed]>

* Hire field staff to cover this massive state.
* Recruit volunteers in every county.
* Launch our first advertising blitz exposing Rob Bonta’s corrupt record.
How much we raise now, in these early stages, could make the difference
between a winning campaign and 4 more years of, well, the same old thing.

So, would you consider becoming one of our Founding Donors now that I have
officially launched my campaign?

I left D.C. and put my career on the line because I know this fight is
winnable.

I’m committing everything to take this office back from the Left.

I’d be honored if you’d be willing to stand alongside me. Donations in these
early days make the biggest impact on our path to victory.

I hope you’ll join us.

Republican for Attorney General

P.S. Attorney General Rob Bonta recently considered jumping in the Governor’s
race but decided not to because his polling numbers were too low to support his
candidacy. My opponent is beatable. This race is winnable. It’s time for
Republicans to win at the state level again. Are you in? »
