The maps are on the ballot. ([link removed])
The Virginia Senate passed a constitutional amendment on Friday that lets the
legislature redraw congressional maps before November. It goes to voters this
spring.
Virginia is now on the Frontline in the fight for control of the US House.
Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Ohio gerrymandered their maps to lock in
Republican seats. This is how Democrats fight back. If the referendum passes,
Virginia could flip four additional House seats before the midterms.
The legislature will release proposed maps by the end of January so voters can
see exactly what they're voting for.
This only works if the referendum passes. Spring special elections have low
turnout. That favors opponents.
If you live in Virginia, vote yes on the redistricting amendment. If you know
people in Virginia, make sure they know it's happening.
