Trump floats wild conspiracy theory after man shoots liquid at Ilhan Omar: "She probably had herself sprayed"
By now you've likely seen the disturbing footage of a disheveled assailant approaching Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar at a town hall in Minneapolis and spraying her with a pungent, unidentified liquid before being tackled to the ground and detained by security. Omar, a childhood survivor of civil war in Somalia and frequent target of Donald Trump's incendiary, hate-filled rhetoric, was notably unfazed by the attack and insisted on continuing her meeting with constituents.

Asked about the incident a few hours later by ABC News' Rachel Scott, America's vile, racist instigator-in-chief had this to say: "No. I don't think about her. I think she’s a fraud. I really don't think about that. She probably had herself sprayed, knowing her." He added, "I haven't seen it. No, no. I hope I don't have to bother." Now, never mind the fact that Omar lives rent-free in Trump's pickled brain — the man has barked and tweeted about Omar literally HUNDREDS of times dating back to his first term in office. What's truly disgusting and utterly disqualifying is the callous indifference the president of the United States has for the well-being of literally any American — elected official or otherwise — who dares to disagree with him.

The malignant narcissist is a textbook, wannabe authoritarian. Unquestioned loyalty and total submission to Trump and Trump alone is the singular, defining "quality" in determining which pile a person belongs in: useful sycophants or discardable malcontents. At a Cabinet meeting in December, Trump literally told his cronies, "We're going to go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country. Ilhan Omar is garbage. She’s garbage. Her [Somali] friends are garbage." Is it any wonder that an unhinged, MAGA rando would hear his cult leader speak like this and feel compelled to act accordingly?

Trump throws his own ICE official under the bus
During an interview on Fox News, America's wannabe dictator casually tossed the now former-Border Patrol "commander-at-large" Greg Bovino directly under the bus, describing the henchman as a "pretty out there kind of a guy" who maybe wasn't quite so good for his dystopian immigrant purge in Minneapolis after all. Trump has made it crystal clear that anyone caught making him look bad — even a loyalist simply carrying out his direct orders — will be promptly shown the door. Bovino now joins a very long list of discarded exes who hit their expiration date for one reason or another. If only the sycophants in Donald's orbit would remember he will discard them the moment they cease being useful to him. But then blind devotion is a defining feature of being in a cult, innit?

2 GOP senators call for DHS Sec. Kristi Noem to be fired
Gestapo Barbie Kristi Noem just might be on borrowed time as head of the Department of Homeland Security. Republican Sens. Thom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski both went on the record yesterday saying it was time for the puppy killer and her big dumb hat to go. Tillis was particularly pointed in his criticism, stating, "She’s proven that she doesn't know how to lead, how to de-escalate. She’s exposing ICE officers to dangerous situations. She’s exposing US citizens to deadly, deadly situations. I feel like she is discrediting the law enforcement officers of Homeland Security, whether it’s Border Patrol, ICE, Customs ― she is way out of her depth. She needs to get out of the DHS."

Before the gun smoke had barely cleared in Minneapolis following the brutal killing of ICU nurse Alex Pretti by agitated Border Patrol agents on Saturday, Noem leaped into action to get her downright Orwellian version of the incident out first, laughably describing Pretti as a violent agitator who "wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement." Video evidence quite clearly refutes her batshit crazy story, of course, and Greg Bovino, her hand-picked goon to lead Trump's immigrant purge in Minnesota, has already received his marching orders. Noem's ouster cannot come quickly enough.

ICE agent threatens legal observer's life: If "you raise your voice, I will erase your voice"
Gee, wonder what could be emboldening Donald Trump's cosplay bounty hunters to casually issue such disturbing threats? The Trump regime's characterization of protesters in Minneapolis as "paid agitators," would-be "assassins," and "domestic terrorists" is not accidental or off the cuff. It's dehumanizing and deeply destabilizing — by design.

To be crystal Tom-Cruise-in-A-Few-Good-Men clear, simply observing law enforcement raids conducted in public and/or peacefully protesting on the streets is constitutionally protected activity, and the MAGA cult leader's Gestapo goon squad cannot simply "erase" people with impunity because they're put out by it. These brutes clearly feel empowered to issue such threats, however, and serious questions need answering in the halls of Congress about the exact nature and scope of their marching orders. People's lives are at stake here, along with the very foundation and credibility of American democracy.

In a very positive sign for what's to come in November, Democrats brought the Minnesota state house to a 67-67 tie with one uncontested race and a stunning win that saw Democrat Meg Luger-Nikolai win 95% of the vote. Yes, you read that right. 95% of the vote. People are so flipping mad at Republicans over Trump and ICE's murder-terror ramapage that we're putting up Saddam Hussein numbers — except these elections are real, and they will have very serious consequences for those responsible for this violence on our communities.

Five-year-old deported to Honduras despite being US citizen is latest child victim of Trump crackdown
The latest entry in American Misadventures in Dystopia™ is a particularly exasperating one. Despite being a US citizen, five-year-old Génesis Ester Gutiérrez Castellanos was snatched from the only community she has ever known and deported on January 11 alongside her mother, Karen Guadalupe Gutiérrez Castellanos, to Honduras. ICE agents were acting on an administrative deportation order against Gutiérrez, 26, issued in 2019, before Génesis was born. "I kept telling them 'the girl was born here.' They didn't care, they picked up the child, just put a jumper on her, and told me to get into the car with her," Gutiérrez told The Guardian.

The two were held for almost a week in a hotel 80 miles from their home, without access to a lawyer or a hearing before a judge, before being deported to Honduras. Activists and analysts point to a string of procedural violations in the case and note similarities with other recent detentions of children, such as that of five-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos in Minneapolis. Hey, remember how Trump has repeatedly told us his anti-immigrant goons are going after the worst of the worst? Yeah, no.

Leaked memo exposes how DHS is building a database on protesters
A deeply disturbing new report indicates that ICE is recoding the faces and identities of protestors — and possibly targeting them for retribution. Last weekend's murder of Alex Pretti was NOT ICE/BP's first interaction with him; the week before, they had assaulted him and broken one of his ribs while he was monitoring a different ICE operation, which prompts the horrifying question of whether Pretti was targeted and executed deliberately, as a source told CNN that federal agents knew Pretti’s name, but did not clarify if he was in this database. Last week, a masked ICE agent warned a woman filming their activities in Portland, Maine, that her information would be entered into a “nice little database” that would label her a domestic terrorist. This week, federal agents have reportedly started making house calls on volunteer ICE watchers they hope to intimidate. These goons are beyond out of control and there is no amount of retraining in the world that can fix this. Abolishing ICE, dismantling its database, and prosecuting all those involved is the only way out of this.
