Hi John,
In less than 100 days, Democrats have a rare chance to pick up a Congressional seat in the TX 24th district, while also electing the first Afro-Latina to Congress in U.S. history. The excitement in North Texas is palpable!
Candace Valenzuela is a mother, an educator, and a lifelong Texan. She overcame incredible odds growing up homeless, and she has since devoted her life to fighting for opportunities for others. Candace first ran for her local school board to improve Texas schools. Now she's running for Congress to stand up for all Texas children and their families. I am anxious to welcome her to our delegation.
Please join me, State Representative Julie Johnson, and the Women of Dallas United for Action (WDUA) for a virtual fundraiser on August 21st in support of Candace Valenzuela for Congress - the #5 Democratic Opportunity seat in the nation according to the Washington Post!

Let's not waste this opportunity. I hope to see you on the call.

P.S.- Please consider making a contribution even if you cannot attend. There is far too much at stake to let this one slide past us.
