Because you get these emails you probably know that I founded Powered by People to reach, register and turn out the voters who will help Democrats win big victories in Texas, up and down the ballot.
But what you might not know is that I’m also a monthly donor.
I hope that you’ll join me by becoming one as well.
Amy and I so believe in the work our organizers and volunteers are doing—meeting future voters in person wherever they are in this great big state, registering them to vote and staying in touch with them throughout the year to ensure that they vote—that we are giving what we can to keep it going.
That’s why we volunteer our time and donate each month, to make sure we grow this program so that it can have the maximum impact possible. Here’s the two of us registering students at the University of Texas at El Paso:
We’ve seen the results in person, like the look on a newly registered voter’s face when they realize they’ll have a say in the future of our country. And we’ve also seen the results in the data: young voters in our program turning out at a rate of nearly 80%, when the state average for the same group is 37%.
This is the work that works. That's why we're all in and why we hope you will be too.
