Dear Members and Supporters,
The WCL Green Party is working to have a Green candidate on every ballot across our three boroughs in the upcoming local elections. We are seeking both paper candidates and development candidates.
Paper candidates stand to ensure voters always have the option to vote Green. They support Green values and are listed on the ballot, but are not expected to campaign actively. This is a perfect way to take your first step in politics while helping the party grow its presence.
Development candidates stand in wards where we are building support for future elections. They may do light campaigning, gain experience, and help grow the Green vote over time. This role is ideal if you want to develop the skills and confidence to stand more actively in the future.
Having a Green candidate on every ballot is vital. It strengthens our visibility, shows voters that Green values matter in every community, and helps build momentum for future campaigns.
To stand, you must live or work within the borough. If you’re interested in helping the Green Party expand its reach and influence, please email us at [email protected]. We welcome supporters from all walks of life who share our commitment to environmental sustainability, social justice, and local democracy.
There will also be an opportunity to meet current candidates and learn more about what’s involved at our next members’ meeting:
Wednesday 4th February, 7–9pm
Twynholm Baptist Church Hall, 324–326 Lillie Road, SW6 7PP
Let’s make sure there’s a Green voice for every voter!
In solidarity,
Charlie
WCL Green Party Campaigns Coordinator and ERO
