I know how Washington works. I worked there for a long time.

Right now, behind closed doors, some strategists are telling Senator Schumer to play it safe. They are telling him that a shutdown is bad politics because it’ll hurt everyday Americans. They are telling him to give Trump his money, pass the budget, and live to fight another day. They are telling him he can wait it out until the midterms.

Tell that to the families of Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good.

There is no "another day" for the victims of this police state. The fight is right now.
