Nottingham Jobs recognises that many businesses need additional support right now to recover from COVID-19, including grants, business advice and support to increase or retain their vital workforce. Support includes:

Kickstarter Fund:

This fund will subsidise six-month work placements for people on Universal Credit aged between 16 and 24 who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

Apprenticeships Grants:

This money is in addition to the existing ?1,000 payment the Government already provides for new 16 to 18 year old apprentices and those aged under 25 with an Education, Health and Care Plan.

Redsmith Distillery diversifies in time of need

Redsmith Distillery

Redsmith Distillery?is the only gin maker and distillery in the city of Nottingham. Based in Sneinton Market right in the heart of Nottingham?s Creative Quarter, Redsmith have been producing gin since 2016.?The distillery?s signature spirit, Redsmith London Dry Gin was launched in 2016 following three years of development and has picked up several top awards.

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, HMRC has made it possible for bonded trade facility warehouses to denature alcohol in order to make hand sanitiser. Redsmith Distillery, being such an operation, initially made a small batch of sanitising hand rub and donated this to local businesses and charities. Continue reading...
