Dear Friend,

Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., Access Health CT and my staff will be available to assist you in enrollment and answer questions about the expired Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits that we have been fighting hard to extend. You can CLICK HERE to sign up.

ACA premium subsidies help more than 143,000 people in Connecticut. I am fighting to extend these critical subsidies and preserve Medicare and Medicaid — and I will not support any legislation that makes it harder for you or your family to afford health care.

As you may know, Access Health CT, our state's health insurance exchange, has offered a special enrollment period for eligible customers to enroll in coverage with a new state subsidy to make up for the loss of the federal subsidies. The Special Enrollment Period begins February 1. Please note, the Special Enrollment Period is separate from the Open Enrollment Period, which ends January 31.

According to Access Health CT, customers who qualify for this Special Enrollment Period include:

  • Households with an annual income between 100% and 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), who are not already enrolled in the Covered CT Program. These customers will receive a state subsidy to replace 100% of the expired federal enhanced premium tax credit amounts.
  • Households with an annual income over 400% and up to 500% FPL. These customers will receive a state subsidy to replace 50% of the expired federal enhanced premium tax credit amounts.
  • See the chart below to see if you and your family qualify:
