Really big news, everyone:

Democrat Amy McGrath just announced her campaign to replace Mitch McConnell in the United States Senate.

Amy's story isn't surprising. At 13, she wrote McConnell a letter telling him that she wanted to fly in combat and fight for her country, even though the law said she couldn't just because she was a girl.

McConnell never responded. And now, it's clear that Amy isn't the only Kentuckian he's ignored.

The ban on women in combat roles was lifted when Amy was a high school senior, and she was accepted into the United States Naval Academy and went on to spend 20 years as a U.S. Marine.
