Minneapolis is not alone in this fight for our democracy.

In the wake of the killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, and after Attorney General Pam Bondi all but admitted that the ICE invasion is being used to extort Minnesota into handing over voter records, one thing is now painfully clear: this was never just about immigration.

Trump is using ICE as part of an all-out assault on our democracy.

Many of the states now facing ICE invasions are the very states where Defend Our Courts plans to protect, expand, or build pro-democracy Supreme Court majorities—the courts that ultimately decide election cases and determine whether abuse of power is stopped or allowed to continue.

Here’s what we’re seeing:

• Kentucky: ICE arrests surged by more than 37% in early 2025. Local law enforcement agencies and county jails are increasingly entangled with ICE enforcement.
• Montana: ICE operations have expanded statewide, with multiple high-profile detentions and arrests.
• Nevada: Arrests are surging in Reno and Las Vegas, and the governor authorized National Guard support for ICE.
• Georgia: The state now ranks fourth nationally in ICE arrests, with National Guard support deployed.
• Michigan: Targeted enforcement surges are underway as part of broader Midwest operations.
• Minnesota: Nearly 2,700 ICE agents have been deployed as part of “Operation Metro Surge.”
• North Carolina: A high number of local law enforcement agencies now participate directly in ICE programs.
• Ohio: Enforcement activity has increased, with National Guard support authorized.
• Texas: Over 24,000 people entered ICE custody in just two months during 2025.
• Wisconsin and Kansas: Both are included in expanded Midwestern ICE operations.

It’s no coincidence.

MAGA knows elections are run by states, not the federal government. That’s why they are pressuring governors, intimidating state officials, and demanding voter records. And that’s why state Supreme Courts are now the last line of defense.

With strong, independent, pro-democracy state courts, we can block election interference, protect voter privacy, and hold those who commit brutality on our streets accountable, beyond the reach of presidential pardons.

In 2025, because of supporters like you, we proved this works when we successfully defended the Democratic majority on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court.

As ICE violence ratchets up, so do the stakes.

Protecting our constitutional rights. Holding abusers of power accountable. Stopping a MAGA election rigging.
