Like millions across the country, I am disgusted by another state-sanctioned murder in Minnesota. These last few weeks of ICE activity have been a failure of justice, and I’m demanding accountability in Congress.

These are not the actions of the country I swore to defend when I enlisted in the Army, nor was it of the country that my parents fled Vietnam and risked everything for.

These are difficult times, but we cannot afford to look away. This is a uniquely critical moment for our democracy, and I’m doing everything in my power to get oversight and protect our communities.

The hard truth is that without Democratic control of the House, my GOP colleagues across the aisle are using their cowardice to do nothing -- just a few days ago, they voted to give over $10 billion to ICE.

Whether we like it or not, what happens in November’s midterm elections will shape the next few years. We need to win the majority and fight back against the unchecked MAGA agenda.
