The fate of the House is on the ballot this year.

I’m a first-term Democrat up for reelection in a district Republicans are determined to take back.

Republicans are preparing a rematch by lining up behind Anthony D’Esposito again. This is the same guy who was named one of the most corrupt members of Congress and was exposed for giving his mistress a taxpayer-funded no-show job.

If D’Esposito runs this becomes the third straight close election and the tie breaker for control of the House. Republicans are willing to overlook everything about his shady record if it helps them keep power.

There is no cushion here. If this seat flips, Republicans keep the House.
