A look back at 2019
Forum has published its 2019 Annual Report, highlighting progress in our work to help keep global warming to within 1.5 degrees and to ensure the sustainability of food and value chains.
While 2019 may seem a distant memory, it was a year in which the climate and biodiversity crises dramatically intensified. 2019’s global average temperature was 1.1°C above the pre-industrial period and the year became the second hottest on record. 2019 also concluded a decade of exceptional heat, retreating ice caps and rising sea levels.
Consequently, the 2020s are set for extreme turbulence, compounded by the world’s latest threat: COVID-19. Forum’s work, with the support of our partners, has never been more relevant and urgent and the report captures the many lessons learned over 12 months through our coaching programmes, our School of System Change, our work with organisations to develop transformational strategies, and our cross-sector collaborations.
