My job is to listen to your perspectives and improve life here in Northwest Washington through legislation and advocacy in Congress. It is an honor to represent Northwest Washington, one I do not take for granted.

Last year, we faced many uncertainties. My office received over twice as many constituent messages as the year prior. People are concerned about the actions of this administration, the Republican Rip-Off, and what it all means for Northwest Washington.

Despite President Trump and the Republican Rip-Off's attacks on our values, I spent last year addressing affordability, standing up for health care, fighting for veterans, improving transportation and infrastructure, and protecting immigrants in our communities. Here are just some of the actions I took last year:

• I supported legislation to extend the Affordable Care Act tax subsidies and keep insurance premiums affordable for working families
• I am co-leading legislation to protect seniors from the new red tape the Trump administration is implementing in traditional Medicare by repealing the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Wasteful and Inappropriate Service Reduction (WISeR) model
• I voted against the "Big Ugly Law," which drives up health care costs by cutting Medicaid and takes away health care from 22,000 people in Northwest Washington
• I hosted local roundtables with veterans in Everett, Bellingham, Burlington, Oak Harbor, and Lummi Nation, and published a report detailing veterans' most pressing challenges and policies to address them
• I secured the release of millions of dollars in federal funding for local transportation and infrastructure projects in Northwest Washington

I will continue to stand up to this administration and the Republican Rip-Off, and I am proud to be in this fight with you.
